Collaboration with Tony Oursler, combining spoken text and video text in a duet between a television and a performer, DeJong. Two worlds of story telling, electronic and oral, in sync deliver a genealogy: family members belong to a visible yet over looked group: history’s bit players; their collective story is traced through a succession of appearances in painting, photography, the movies, television, video games. Commission of and premiered at Boston ICA; 60 minutes, 1988.
